Let's face it. Portraits are commissioned for various reasons. One may capture a child's innocence or create a family heirloom; another may honor an individual of great achievement and influence. Whatever the motive, painted portraits are placed in positions of prominence and words cannot adequately express the importance that a painted portrait confers upon the subject.
